Gabriel Martinelli delighted to sign new Arsenal contract

Gabriel Martinelli has shared his first words after signing a contract extension with Arsenal, expressing his delight at securing his future at the club.

Gabriel Martinelli is the latest Arsenal youngster to commit to a long-term future with the club.

Following on from fellow talent Bukayo Saka, who penned his own long-term deal earlier this week, the 19-year-old has penned a four-year deal of his own.

As part of the contract, Arsenal have the option to extend the Brazilian’s contract by a further year – effectively securing him down to 2025.

Martinelli has become an instant favourite at the club following his arrival from Ituano last year. He became the first teenager to hit double figures in goals for Arsenal since Nicolas Anelka 20 years ago.

The 19-year-old has now taken to social media to state his delight on his new deal, winning over fans even more by including a very famous quote from an Arsenal legend.

“I am very happy to commit my future to this great club and I would like to thank Arsenal and all the fans for this fantastic year. It is the first of many and I can’t wait to be back to play a part in the exciting seasons to come,” Martinelli posted on Instagram.

“Play for the name on the front of the shirt and they’ll remember the name on the back,” his message finished, tagging Tony Adams.

Martinelli has already been tipped to reach great heights at the club.
