Fuenlabrada Power is with LaLiga’s judge
There has been good news for Fuenlabrada as the Court for Arbitration of Sport have decided that LaLiga’s judge has priority ahead of the RFEF’s competition committee, meaning that Fuenlabrada look to be in the clear over the chaos in LaLiga Smartbank when they had a coronavirus outbreak.
LaLiga’s judge had cleared Fuenlabrada, but the RFEF’s competition committee recommended that they be demoted.
Specialist media outlet Iusport say that Spain’s leading sports court has agreed with LaLiga that they have the final say, which Deportivo La Coruna had challenged.
Now, Deportivo can only save their second tier status by taking the case to regular Spanish courts, which looks unlikely to be successful, particularly with such little time left.
The Spanish government, LaLiga and RFEF must now decide on the schedule for next season, with this case having delayed matters further.
