Eintracht Frankfurt register interest in Benfica defender Tomás Tavares

Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing 19-year-old SL Benfica defender Tomás Tavares, according to Kicker.

With one game remaining, there’s still a chance the Bundesliga club may not qualify for next season’s Champions League and so, the €20m to €25m asking price could prove too high.

“Everything has to be affordable,” said sporting director Rudi Völler.

Benfica are in no rush to sell the Portugal youth international, who has a contract with the Lisbon club until 2024.
