Market: Eintracht Frankfurt win
Odds: 23/20 @ 888sport
Hoping to continue on what has been a very impressive start to the new Bundesliga campaign, Eintracht Frankfurt will make the trip to the RheinEnergieStadion on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Koln might have just about managed to crawl themselves over the finish line after a sluggish return from the enforced break over the summer, it has been another disappointing start for the Billy Goats. Last seen heading into the international break getting hugely outplayed in a 3-1 defeat at home against Borussia Mönchengladbach earlier in the month, Head Coach Markus Gisdol has seen his men lose each of their opening three Bundesliga appearances and the mood around the RheinEnergieStadion remains at a continued low. Coming under real scrutiny for a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bundesliga debutants Arminia Bielefeld, Koln also have a real reputation for their glaring issues on home soil. Continuing on from last season, Sunday’s hosts have failed to win any of their last seven top-flight contests in Cologne.
As for the visitors, while Koln might be enduring what has been a torrid start to the New Year, Eintracht Frankfurt have continued to impress many across Germany. Last seen earlier in the month when heading into the international break picking up a deserved 2-1 win against fellow high-flyers Hoffenheim on home soil, the Eagles have collected seven points from their opening three appearances and have a European return at the top of their agenda. Looking to make another statement when they return to action at the RheinEnergieStadion on Sunday, Head Coach Adi Hütter has also seen his side continue on quite the unbeaten record on the road. Securing a thumping 3-1 win against Hertha Berlin in their last outing away from Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt are unbeaten in each of their last seven Bundesliga away fixtures, collecting 17 points.
