Borussia Dortmund will not rush or pressure teenage striker Youssoufa Moukoko into his senior debut.
Youssoufa Moukoko is learning his trade in Borussia Dortmund’s youth teams.
He came to the Bundesliga giants from St. Pauli’s Youth FC where he reportedly arrived as U12 player from Cameroon.
Dubbed the new Samuel Eto’o he apparently scored 157 goals in 97 games for the German youth club.
It now appears that the 15-year-old is also running riot even against teams with players much older than him too.
Reports suggest he has scored as many as 34 goals in 20 games for the club’s U19 team.
The German Football League and Bundesliga recently amended their regulations on the age at which a player could make their senior debut.
By the letter of the law, Moukoko is currently eligible to play top-flight football.
However, the German club who has a knack of developing young prodigious talent wants to be cautious and not put unnecessary pressure on the youngster.
In an interview reported by Goal, Sporting Director Michael Zorc said:
“The framework conditions for professional appearances by absolute exceptional players of this age have been created.”
“But we are not putting any pressure on him at all.”
“We do well not to raise expectations of Youssoufa too high.”
Check out the highlight real, its easy to see what all the fuss is about.
How long will it be before the Youssoufa Moukoko is making headlines like some of Bundesliga’s other teenage sensations?
