Deportivo Unhappy relegation has been held up
Deportivo La Coruna are planning to request the suspension of the beginning of the 2020/21 season as they continue their fight against LaLiga.
The Galician club were relegated from the Segunda Division on the final day of the season without their game against Fuenlabrada going ahead.
After a lot of controversy that game was then played, with Depor winning, but they were relegated anyway and have since had an appeal for next season to be played with 24 teams rejected.
“An unprecedented outrage has taken place,” a club statement began, before fingers were also pointed at the National Sports Council [CSD].
“Today the biggest outrage in LaLiga’s history was carried out.
“With one body which says that it’s the best in the world, and the CSD, the body that should be impartial and study all of the evidence.”
The club expressed that they want to exhaust all of the options available to them to remain in Spain’s second tier and that they will request the suspension of the start of the season.
