Danny Welbeck scores lovely overhead kick against Norwich

Danny Welbeck went viral on social media after he scores quite simply a lovely overhead kick against nearly down and out Norwich City.

Yes, not only did he actually manage to put the ball in the back of a net, but he done is spectacularly on the same day Christian Benteke also got on the scoresheet, a rare occurrance for the pair.

It’s fair to say Welbeck hasn’t been known for a goalscorer for a good while now, but certainly put an end to that with what has been dubbed an ‘absolutely beautiful’ bicycle kick goal, so good that it left Troy Deeney looking like this…

It was the former Arsenal player’s second goal for the Hornets and it might just be a vital goal for the club in their bid to stay up in the Premier League.

He managed to score for the first time since he did so for Arsenal against West Ham way back in August 2018. That’s over 600 days. His last 3 goals in all competitions have come under different managers in Unai Emery, Quique Sanchez Flores and Nigel Pearson.

Norwich, who will remain bottom of the Premier League table with just four games left to play, did put themselves in front on the fourth minute thanks to Emiliano Buendia but Craig Dawson’s header in the 10th minute levelled the scoreline.

Then it was down to Welbeck to produce that goal which ended up seeing Watford move 10 points ahead of Norwich and four clear of the relegation places.

Daniel Farke’s side are 10 points from safety with only 12 points left to play for. A defeat against West Ham United at Carrow Road this weekend would confirm their relegation to the Championship.

Fans quickly took to social media as Danny Welbeck scores that lovely overhead kick against Norwich, it was talked about so much that the player was trending…
