Concern for Chelsea as N’Golo Kante limps out of Leicester clash

Major concern for Chelsea ahead of Champions League final as N’Golo Kante limps out of Leicester clash

Chelsea have this evening been dealt a concerning blow on the personnel front, ahead of next week’s showdown with Manchester City.

    Werner curses his luck

The Blues are of course currently locked in action with Leicester City, at Stamford Bridge.

The matchup marks an absolutely crucial one in the Premier League’s top-4 race, with the two sides, ahead of kick-off, having been separated by just two points.

Visitors Leicester boasted the advantage, sitting 3rd, and brimming with confidence after downing Thomas Tuchel and co. in the FA Cup final just days ago.

In turn, Chelsea were aware that nothing but a victory would suffice this evening, with a Liverpool outfit boasting a 3-game win streak hot on their heels in the battle for Champions League football.

And, with 45 minutes played in west London, the Pensioners are no doubt questioning how exactly they have not managed to take the lead.

This comes with Timo Werner having been denied what looked a clear penalty, before seeing goals disallowed for both offside and handball:

As outlined above, though, Chelsea’s woes on Tuesday evening have not been solely restricted to their efforts to find the net.

This comes with the Londoners having also been dealt a hugely concerning blow on the personnel front.

With a little over half an hour on the clock at Stamford Bridge, Mateo Kovacic – who has only just returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines himself – was spotted stripping off.

In turn, hearts were immediately sent into Blues mouths across the globe, amid a tense wait to see which of their side’s stars was set to be forced off, less than two weeks out from the Champions League final.

And the Chelsea faithful’s worst fears were realised moments later, when star midfielder N’Golo Kante made his way to the sideline, before limping out of the fray in front of Thomas Tuchel:
