Christopher Nkunku on his future: “I’m not running off to a bigger club.”

Speaking in an interview with Sport Bild, RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku discussed Dayot Upamecano and his own future.

“I haven’t come to Leipzig just to disappear right away. I’m not running off to a bigger club. I want to win something with RB Leipzig,” said the 22-year-old.

An arrival from PSG last summer, Nkunku also hopes that Upamecano will remain at the club despite just one-year remaining on his current deal and interest from top European clubs.

“I keep telling him to extend his contract,” said Nkunku. “The question is, will he listen? I expect him to stay in Leipzig and I would be very pleased if he did. We have big plans, Dayot is a great guy and a super player.”
