Challenge Cup allows Lindsey Horan full focus on new-look Thorns – Equalizer Soccer

    At only 26 years old, Lindsey Horan is already a seasoned veteran in the game of women’s soccer. Many know the story already of how she opted to skip college soccer in the United States to hone her skills in Europe.

    In 2016, she came back to the United States, joining the powerhouse Portland Thorns FC. One championship victory, an MVP trophy and two-straight appearances in the NWSL Championship later and Horan has experience way past her years.

    That’s why, now, she’s serving as a mentor and leader to the many new faces joining the Portland Thorns this season.

    “I feel like we have a whole new team,” Horan said this week. “I’m grateful that Becky [Sauerbrunn] is with the team. She’s another role model for younger players…”
