Brasil He is 36 years old
Santos announced on Sunday that Robinho has returned to the club and will play at least until February 2021. The 36-year-old originally came through at Santos, making his first-team debut in 2002, before he went on to join Real Madrid in 2005.
In fact, in Santos’ statement, they revealed that Robinho will earn a little more than the minimum wage in Brazil.According to the contract, the forward will earn 1,500 reals (230 euros) per month, a salary that is slightly higher than Brazil’s minimum wage.Santos have not paid anything to sign Robinho, who became a free agent in the summer after his contract at Istanbul Basaksehir came to an end.
The Brazilian club have also produced players such as Pele and Neymar in the past, but they are currently in serious financial difficulties and are about to receive a FIFA ban that will prevent them from signing players for an as yet undefined period of time.
The foreseeable ban, which may be announced next week, corresponds to unpaid debts to the Chilean club Huachipato for the signing of the Venezuelan winger Yeferson Soteldo, and to the Colombian club Atletico Nacional for the signing of the defender Felipe Aguilar.
Robinho, meanwhile, is in trouble with the Italian justice system, which sentenced him to nine years in prison for his alleged involvement in a gang rape of a young woman in a Milan discotheque in 2013, against which he has appealed and is awaiting a decision.
The forward came through at Santos in 2002, at a time when Diego Ribas was also making his name, and together Robinho and Diego won the Brazilian championship that year and also in 2004. A year later he signed for Real Madrid and in 2008 he began a long journey that took him to Manchester City, AC Milan, Guangzhou Evergrande, Atletico Mineiro, Sivasspor and Istanbul Basaksehir.Whilst at Manchester City and Milan, Robinho returned to Santos on two separate loan spells, but now he is back at the club on a permanent basis.
