Bonucci: Juventus are fired up for Lyon clash

Leonardo Bonucci is convinced that Juventus are going to put up a strong performance in their upcoming crucial Champions League tie.

Juventus await one of their most critical fixtures of the 2019/20 season as they prepare to take on Lyon in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

Though they are at a 1-0 disadvantage from the first leg at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in February, the tie remains very much open for Juve.

There is a paramount pressure on Maurizio Sarri‘s men to proceed to the next round and eventually win the trophy, having last tasted success in the Champions League way back in the 1995/96 season.

A failure in the competition might result in critics, and even some fans, declaring their season as flop, despite winning their ninth straight Scudetto this season.

Leonardo Bonucci insists his side are geared up for tonight’s match as he discusses the team mood.

“All of us can make the difference in these games, as individuals by helping the team,” Bonucci said in his press conference, as Football Italia reports.

“The energy and adrenaline in the dressing room will be fundamental and I am convinced we’ll see the right enthusiasm from every member of the squad.

“We are in good shape. We achieved our main objective, which was the Scudetto, and now we’re fired up ready to play tomorrow.”
