Bernard Mensah distraught after Kayserispor’s 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahçe

A disappointed Bernard Mensah has apologized to supporters of Kayserispor after the team’s 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.

The Ghanaian international featured on the Matchday with the hopes of playing a part to help the relegation-threatened team to bag all 3 points at the end of the encounter.

Just 14 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe was reduced to 10 men and had to play at the disadvantage for the remainder of the game.

Despite the man advantage, Kayserispor could not get the job done as they ended up losing 2-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking in an interview after the game, Bernard Mensah who grabbed the consolation for the losers says he cannot wrap his head around how the team lost.

“We started the match well, it was an advantage for us that Fenerbahçe had 10 people. We also found the goal, we did not have any problems in the game, but we gave the opportunity to Fenerbahçe’s good feet and left them empty.

“Names that find opportunities when they are empty. The game has gone in the last five minutes, sorry. Even though we gave positions, we were still good. I can’t think of how we lost this match”, the midfielder said in an interview with reporters.

With the latest defeat, Kayserispor’s chances of surviving in the Turkish Super Lig has become slimmer. They remain bottom of the standings and in need of a miracle.
