Barcelona vs Espanyol – Preview and betting prediction

Check out our match preview and betting predictions for tonight’s Catalan Derby between Barcelona and Espanyol.

Camp Nou has never forgotten Raul Tamudo’s last-minute equalizer in the penultimate round of the 2006-07 campaign, when Espanyol held Barca to a 2-2 draw and sent the La Liga trophy to Santiago Bernabeu.

Well, tonight it is revenge time in Barcelona. The Blaugrana will be seeking victory in the Catalan Derby, which will officially send their city rivals to the Segunda Division.

    What to bet on?

    Handicap: Barcelona -2

Barcelona are huge favorites to win the upcoming Derbi Barceloni, but with odds at 1,15, it is simply not worth to gamble on them as winners.

That’s why we came up with another bet, which certainly has a satisfying betting value. And that is the Handicap: Barcelona -2 bet.

This simply means that the Catalan giants will win the game by at least three-goal margin.

Goals – Barcelona to score over 3,50

Barcelona showed an impressive attacking form in the previous round, netting four past Villarreal at Estadio de la Ceramica.

They’ve enjoyed a regular thrashing of their city rivals in the past decade, as they’ve scored over 3,50 goals in seven of the last 10 Catalan derbies they’ve hosted in all competitions.

Goals – Espanyol to score under 0,50

This bet might seem a bit overambitious even for the Barcelona fans, but please keep in mind that Espanyol managed to find the net in only two of their last 10 La Liga visits to Camp Nou.

Additionally, Marc-Andre ter Stegen kept a clean sheet in four of the last five league games at home, conceding only in the 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid.
