Barcelona Looking ahead to Bayern
Sergi Roberto believes that the Champions League’s straight knockout format this season has opened things up for anyone to win the competition.
Barcelona take on Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals after eliminating Napoli on Saturday and the Bavarians have been tipped by many as the favourites to lift the trophy.
“There’s no favourite in this Champions League,” Sergi Roberto said.
“Anyone can win or lose.
“It’s a one-off game, it’ll be like a final.”
The Catalan knows that Barcelona won’t have it easy against Bayern, but he’s confident that they can find some vulnerabilities.
“We don’t know what we’ll need against Bayern,” he admitted.
“We’re going to prepare for the game and see their weaknesses.”
By making it as far as the quarter-finals, Sergi Roberto says that the Azulgrana have achieved their initial objective and will now look to build on that.
“Our goal was to be in Lisbon and now we are,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to a rest and then preparing for Bayern.”
