Atletico Madrid Trippier, Lemar and Correa all on the market
Atletico Madrid will have to sell before they can buy this summer.
The coronavirus crisis, lack of disposal income and slow transfer market mean that making new signings will be a rarity for Los Rojiblancos.
What’s more, Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has declared that only 25 percent of player sales will be put back into the transfer budget.
Nevertheless, Atletico are still looking to bring in a striker in the current transfer window.
That means some members of Diego Simeone‘s squad would have to make way.
At the moment, the club would consider offers for Santiago Arias, Mario Hermoso, Kieran Trippier, Sime Vrsaljko, Thomas Lemar, Vitolo and Angel Correa.
All of those names could leave the Wanda Metropolitano if the right bid is made, although Trippier and Correa will only be sold if the club receives an offer they can’t refuse.
Last summer, Correa came close to signing for AC Milan for 50 million euros, while now Atletico could consider bids from 30 million upwards.
As for Trippier, the club have been happy with his first year in Spain, but he still has a good reputation back in England.
It looks as though only one of Arias or Vrsaljko will stay beyond this summer, while Atletico would consider letting Hermoso go if they receive an offer of more than the 25 million euros they paid for him last year.
Atletico would ask for around 25 million euros for Lemar this summer – far less than the 80 million they paid for 80 percent of his rights in 2018.
With Vitolo, the club are looking to get more than 15 million euros for him.
