    Atlanta United resumes full training

Atlanta United are back together again. The first-team resumed full training on Monday, making the first team the group has practiced together since the MLS season was suspended on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This marks a big milestone in the team and league’s attempt to resume the season. Reports indicate that a tournament in Orlando will take place in early July that will see play resume, although the full details haven’t been finalized.

Atlanta United were one of the first teams to get back on the field with voluntary individual work outs a few weeks ago. MLS has an extensive safety protocol in place to allow teams to now train together as a full group.

MLS Defender of the Year runner-up Miles Robinson spoke after the team’s return to full training, saying that the group is fully healthy and excited to get back into the groove of things. When asked if the team would be ready for the reported Orlando tournament, Miles was confident.

“Obivously we need some level of fitness,” Robinson said in a video provided by the club. “We can get that over the next few weeks. But come July, or whenever that first game is, we’ll definitely be ready.”

The Five Stripes were 2-0 in MLS play when the season was suspended, the only Eastern conference team with a perfect mark.
