According to GiveMeSport journalist Dean Jones, Nicolas Pepe would be open to joining Newcastle this summer.
The 27-year-old broke the Arsenal’s transfer record fee when he joined from Lille in 2019 for £72million.
The London club is now keen to offload the winger for a cut-price fee after he failed to meet expectations since his record move.
The Ivory Coast star himself is keen on a new challenge and he would prefer joining Tyneside club before any midtable club in the Premier League.
Journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think that midtable clubs are interested in him, but I don’t think he’s interested in playing at that level of the Premier League, although Newcastle would interest him because they’re going to challenge for the top six.”
Eddie Howe is keen on bringing another attacker to compete with Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson and Pepe could provide cover for the team and competition within squad.
