Arsenal is eyeing a summer swoop for Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara after identifying the midfielder as an alternative for Atletico Madrid man Thomas Partey.
The English Premier League outfit has been on the heels of the Ghana midfielder for the past months but has seen an opening bid being rejected by the Spanish club.
Currently finding it difficult to meet the 50 million Euros release clause of Thomas Partey, Arsenal is now considering a move for Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have identified the experienced Spaniard as the man with enough quality to give them a squad boost just in case they miss out on signing the Black Stars asset.
Alcantara after Bayern Munich’s Uefa Champions League triumph over PSG is reportedly on his way out. Arsenal could secure his services if only they can outbid Liverpool.
It is understood that Alcantara will cost less than Thomas Partey in the transfer market.
