Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta a ‘huge fan’ of Leicester’s James Maddison

    Arsenal need creativity

One of Arsenal’s biggest issues during the first half of the 2020/21 campaign was their real lack of creativity.

The emergence of Emile Smith Rowe in December helped solved this issue somewhat. But it was quite clear Arsenal could not solely rely on ESR over the course of a full season which sees them competing in several competitions.

This would lead to the Gunners securing the services of Martin Odegaard during the winter transfer window.

And the Norwegian would indeed bring a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack, with Odegaard’s versatility allowing him to line up alongside Smith Rowe, or in his place when needed.

Odegaard, though, has now returned to Real and Arsenal’s search for creativity reinforcements has begun again.

    Arteta a fan of Maddison

However, Arsenal’s search for some more creativity in midfield looks to have continued.

And on Tuesday evening a new name emerged on courtesy of The AFC Bell, who was also first the report the Gunners’ interest in Thomas Partey last year.

And The AFC Bell claims that Arsenal are interested in the services of Leicester’s James Maddison:

Maddison would score eight and assist seven in 31 league outings for Leicester last term and would likely be a solid addition to Mikel Arteta’s side.

Football.london’s Chris Wheatley has also picked on the Maddison to Arsenal rumours.

And whilst Wheatley stated that Arteta is a huge fan of Maddison, he also claimed the fee would be an issue:
