Allardyce takes swipe at Klopp/Sturridge reacts to Alisson’s winner

Sam Allardyce takes swipe at Klopp as Daniel Sturridge and more react to Alisson’s winner vs West Brom

A number of noteworthy stories have come to the fore online this evening, on the back of Liverpool’s win over West Bromwich Albion.

    Allardyce’s swipe

Jurgen Klopp and co. were of course back in action a short time ago.

The Reds made the trip to the Hawthorns, for a crunch Premier League meeting with West Brom.

The clash marked a crucial one for Liverpool, who, ahead of kick-off, remained in the thick of the battle for a top-4 berth.

And, when all was said and done in the West Midlands, keep alive such hopes is precisely what the visitors managed.

It was actually West Brom who opened the evening’s scoring early on, when Matheus Pereira’s clever through ball was slotted beyond Alisson by Hal Robson-Kanu:

Mohamed Salah, though, dragged Liverpool on level terms just beyond the half-hour mark, before the Reds completed the turnaround in the most spectacular fashion imaginable.

After Alisson was granted permission to head forward for a corner kick deep into injury-time, the Brazilian made history, nodding home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s wicked delivery from the left to spark wild celebrations amongst the visiting players:

In turn, on the back of the full-time whistle, it did not come as a major surprise when Sam Allardyce allowed his frustrations to somewhat get the better of him.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the West Brom boss highlighted a pair of key decisions which he felt went against his side on Sunday, before making use of the opportunity to aim a less than subtle dig at Jurgen Klopp:

    ‘What a guy’

Whilst Allardyce fumes, though, those of a Liverpool persuasion have made clear their understandable excitement in the hours since the action was brought to a close at the Hawthorns.

Taking to social media, match-winner Alisson’s Reds teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold posted the following:

TAA’s message, meanwhile, was swiftly followed by another on the part of a long-time Liverpool hitman, Daniel Sturridge:
