Alexander-Arnold sets points target at 104 for Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold desires for Liverpool to break the Premier League point record in a bid to make this season more memorable.

Manchester City amassed triple-digit points in the 2017-18 season – a feat no other team in the history of the Premier League have managed to reach.

But gone are the days when Pep Guardiola’s Man City side used to dominate English football and were simply a step above every other team in the competition.

In a unique turn of events, another team, going by the name of Liverpool, have emerged as the dominant force.

Liverpool not only dethroned Man City as champions, but they did it by raising the bar to a never-seen-before high, breaking several records, and making new ones in the process.

With 92 points collected and four games left to be played, the Reds are on course to erase City’s name and write their own on the points total record.

“I think there’s no better way to do that [making sure Liverpool are remembered as a historic team] than to set a points record that people will find hard to achieve,” Trent Alexander-Arnold told the official club website.

“So it’s something that we want to do. We want to push ourselves, we’ve got four games left… why not go for the full 12 and see how far we can get.

“Like I said, our focus is on our mentality and making sure that we are right going into these last four.”
