Aduana Stars managed to pick up a third consecutive win after clinching a 2-0 victory over title chasers Medeama at home on Sunday afternoon.
The Ogya boys went into the game having won three of their last five league matches. It was the same situation for Medeama albeit the Mauve and Yellows had earned 10 points during that stretch as compared to Aduana’s nine.
Samuel Bioh opened the scoring for the hosts with a smart finish inside just nine minutes. Despite pressure from the visitors in search of an equalizer, Aduana reigned supreme and doubled their advantage just before the hour mark.
Sam Adams got the opportunity to score from the penalty spot and he made no mistake with the finish. Aduana went into the halftime break full of confidence.
In the second half, the hosts were solely focused on maintaining their lead and invited pressure from Medeama for the entirety of the half. They managed to avoid conceding a goal which sealed the victory.
Aduana are now 6th on the log with 39 points and Medeama are 4th with 40 points.
